How it works
This formula finds how much each person should pay when a bill has a tip added before the total is split. First, the original bill T is increased by the tip rate r, giving the full amount to pay, and then that total is shared equally among n people. It works because multiplying by (1 + r) adds the tip to the bill in one step.
When to use it
Use this when friends or family want to divide a restaurant bill fairly after adding a tip. It also helps in any shared expense where everyone pays the same share of a total cost plus an added percentage.
